It is with great sadness that I report here the sudden death on 19 January 2025 of Distinguished Professor David Moore Johnston, Director of the Joint Centre for Disaster Research, Massey University, New Zealand. David made a great contribution to disaster research and he was also a strong supporter of the Gender and Disaster Network and hosted its Pacific-Oceania Regional Hub at Massey Univeristy. A public memorial service on Saturday 15th February 2025. A livestream will be provided but the link is not available yet.
